Who We Are

Our Mission

The Second Wind Lung Transplant Association of St. Louis is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization devoted to improving the quality of life for lung transplant recipients, lung surgery candidates, people with related pulmonary concerns and their families by providing support, advocacy, education, information and guidance through a spirit of service.

Welcome to Second Wind St. Louis.
We are happy you found us.

Receiving a lung transplant, the “Gift of Life”, is a life altering experience. If you have been transplanted you are among a small but growing number of recipients. We invite you to join us, share your experience and gain insight into how others manage post-transplant life.

If you are considering lung transplant surgery, our post-transplant members can be a very important source of information in addressing your questions and concerns.

If alternate treatments are what you are planning for your respiratory disease, come join us and learn how others in same or similar circumstances have learned to cope with their diseases and even improved their quality of life.

Families and friends of respiratory patients also are strongly encouraged to participate in Second Wind of St. Louis. Here they can learn more about the diseases that have befallen their loved ones. Also, they can share their experiences as caregivers and learn how other caregivers cope with similar situations.

The Association also invites health care professionals and representatives of corporations that provide sponsorships for the Second Wind Lung Walk or goods and services to the transplant community to become members.
