While the St. Louis Chapter of Second Wind does not endorse any particular apartment or housing complex, we are providing for your information, some of the options available to you in the St. Louis area. Other lung transplant patients have used the housing options listed below and found them to meets their needs nicely.

Almost Home

$60.00 per night

Almost Home offers for rent one- bedroom duplexes that are fully furnished including kitchen cookware and sheets and towels. The units are located in a neighborhood a short distance from Barnes on South Kingshighway. They are close to grocery, department and discount stores, pharmacies, churches, banks, schools and restaurants. The rent includes telephone, cable television, and utilities. Barnes Lodge

$30.00 per person, per night, per bed

Barnes Lodge is a 20-guest-room facility within walking distance of the hospital. It is open to outpatients and families of patients receiving medical services at the hospital. In addition to sleeping rooms, Barnes Lodge offers a dining room, kitchen, television rooms, laundry facilities and quiet rooms. A parking lot is adjacent to the building, and a free shuttle service is available.

Chase Park Plaza

The Chase is located in Central West End just a few blocks from the Barnes-Jewish Hospital campus. At the Chase Park Plaza Apartments, you have your choice of living in a furnished or unfurnished Studio, One, Two or Three-bedroom apartment. St. Louis Recreational Vehicle Park

There is an RV Park 1½ miles east of Barnes Hospital. St. Louis RV Park is accommodating to patients and their families . The RV Park offers RV setup with electricity, sewer hookup, water, showers, outdoor pool and laundry facilities. If you would like additional information including long term rates, please call Mary at (314)-241-3330.

Patients may park RVs/campers on the BJC staff parking lot at no charge. Electric hookup is available. However, no sewer, water or additional facilities are available. For more information please contact Washington University Security at (314)-286-0509.
